Grace Church Sawtry

A New Church in the Heart of Sawtry

Grace Church Sawtry is a new local church meeting in the village of Sawtry each Sunday morning.

Grace Church is a church plant supported by Kingfisher and connected with the Fellowship of Independent Evangelical Churches (FIEC).

We’re an evangelical church committed to teaching the Bible faithfully, making Jesus Christ known, and building a warm church community for ordinary people.

Whether you’ve followed Jesus for many years, haven’t been to church in a long time, or are simply curious about Christianity, you would be very welcome to visit us.

“For what we preach is not ourselves, but Jesus Christ as Lord.”
2 Corinthians 4:5

What Should I Expect?

A typical Sunday morning at Grace Church is simple, welcoming, and centred on Jesus Christ and the Bible.

Our gatherings usually last around 75 minutes and include singing, prayer, Bible reading, and a sermon that explains what the Bible says and why it matters for everyday life. After the service, many people stay around for tea, coffee, and conversation together.

There’s no dress code, no pressure to participate publicly, and no expectation that you already know your way around church or the Bible.

We know visiting somewhere new can feel daunting, especially if you’ve never been to church before or haven’t been for many years. You won’t be singled out or put on the spot. Many people who come are exploring Christianity, returning to church after time away, or simply looking for a church community that feels grounded, genuine, and centred on Jesus.

We’ll do our best to help you feel at home.

“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.”
Matthew 11:28

What Kind of Church Are We?

Grace Church Sawtry exists to help people know Jesus Christ through the teaching of the Bible and the life of a loving church family.

We believe:

  • The Bible is God’s trustworthy Word
  • Jesus Christ is the hope of the world
  • The gospel is good news for ordinary people
  • The local church matters deeply

Our desire is not simply to run meetings, but to become a healthy local church in Sawtry where people are helped to follow Jesus together in everyday life.

“Let the message of Christ dwell among you richly…”
Colossians 3:16

Our Relationship with Kingfisher Church

Grace Church Sawtry has been planted out of Kingfisher Church in Little Paxton.

For many years Kingfisher has prayed for opportunities to see healthy gospel-centred churches established in surrounding communities. Grace Church is part of that vision.

At this stage, Grace Church is led and overseen by the elders of Kingfisher Church, who currently serve both churches together. Our hope, God willing, is that in time Grace Church would become an established and independent local church with its own eldership rooted in Sawtry itself.

This shared leadership oversees preaching and teaching, and helps provide spiritual care, accountability, stability, and ongoing support as the church grows.

“We proclaim him, admonishing and teaching everyone with all wisdom, so that we may present everyone fully mature in Christ.”
Colossians 1:28

We’d Love to Welcome You

If you are looking for a church in Sawtry, exploring the Christian faith, returning to church after many years away, or simply wondering whether there might be more to life than you’ve yet discovered, we would love to invite you to come along.

Life can often feel busy, heavy, lonely, or uncertain. Christianity is not about pretending to have life sorted. It is about hearing the good news that Jesus Christ welcomes weary people and reconciles sinners to God through his death and resurrection.

Grace Church is a place where we want people to encounter the grace of God together slowly, honestly, and in the middle of ordinary life.

You do not need to have everything figured out.

Just come as you are.

“…whoever comes to me I will never drive away.”
John 6:37
